Moxie is many things: a Londoner born and bred, raised on raving and records; a seasoned DJ, playing big-room clubs and sweatbox basements worldwide; a charming radio host,
as at home on national FM as regional stations and independent start-ups. It’s this balancing act between the underground and the mainstream that’s seen her become one of
the UK’s hottest DJs. Starting out covering for Sinden on Kiss FM in 2010, Moxie began guesting on Rinse FM and DJing around London.
In 2013, she was added to BBC Radio 1’s ‘In New DJs We Trust’ roster before climbing the ranks to host her own residency in 2014.
A staple member of the NTS Radio family, Moxie’s bi-weekly show has been a permanent fixture since the beginning. Moxie’s show sees her host in-depth interviews and guest mixes from legendary artists like Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier and Kerri Chandler, as well as breakthrough artists like Or:la and Fort Romeau. Through NTS, she also launched her own ‘Moxie Presents’ compilation series to showcase producers she supports via the show like Shanti Celeste, Throwing Shade, Kowton, Medlar and many more. 2017’s Volume 3 was nominated for DJ Mag’s Best Compilation, nd 2018 will see the series into it’s 4th instalment.
Moxie has also recorded mixes for a range of platforms including Boiler Room, Truants, iD Magazine, FACT, RBMA and more; each one pulling together her years behind the decks, on-air and in the club, with passion, knowledge and flair. Her broad and ambitious selections have seen her play prime slots at venues and festivals such as Panorama Bar, De School, Fabric, Love International and more.
At the start of 2016, Moxie launched On Loop - a nomadic, self-curated club night and record label. Past guests have included Honey Soundsystem, Midland, Matthew Herbert, Leon Vynehall and more in cities and festivals like London, Glasgow, Manchester, Lyon, Amsterdam, Glastonbury and beyond.
With her talent for selecting and promoting quality music, Moxie’s ascent to the top is as smooth as it is earned.
Born and raised in Guatemala, but she learned the dance life in Madrid, her home for the past 11 years. Her style couldn’t be defined in one word. It goes from house to minimal techno,
in too deep but always high. You could say her grooves are funky.
Her unique musical taste shows that she is in love with a wide range of music and it never fails to connect with the crowd.
